Position Objectives

Responsibilities

• Estimate effort associated with all phases of the website development project


• Build websites using designs from Illustrator or other graphics applications


• Code front-end and back-end of website


• Code and/or implement website functionality such as databases, membership, forums and e-commerce


• Implement essential security for websites and related applications


• Tune and optimize websites and related applications for optimal performance


• Develop flash animations


• Implement version control and issue tracking for all projects


• Perform cross-browser and web usability testing

Qualifications

• 3 years website development experience


• Skills in HTML, PHP, CSS, Flash, SQL,


• Skills in Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and Photoshop


• Experience developing and implementing website applications including membership, forums, e-commerce and databases


• Experience with content management systems (such as Wordpress, Drupal and Joomla), search engines, personalization engines or community tools


• Understands the various essential security technologies and standards


• Experience interfacing with SQL databases


• Is adept at performance tuning and optimizations for CPU usage.


• Understands and utilizes Unit Testing as part of development process


• Experience with version control, issue tracking, and build/release management is desired


• Web accessibility experience meeting WCAG checkpoints and Section 508 guidelines


• Demonstrated understanding of the Web application development life cycle, standards-based coding, browser compatibility issues, and Web constraints


• Ability to deliver projects on time, with high quality, and within budget

Optional

• Has experience with Flash Media Server, streaming video, and change detection and notifications


• Knowledge of Macintosh and Windows operating systems and associated browsers, applications and utilities


• Can design complete tiers of an N-tier application consisting of multiple classes and their interactions
• Understands data access using various remote procedures calls and the differences between these technologies i.e. XML, web services, RESTful architectures, Remote Objects (AMF), etc.
